The Marantz is not a well known brand, but is starting to show some signs of wide acceptance.  The actual parts are supplied by NEC and branded under the Marantz name.  They provide a great clarity with some solid contrast and color purity.  Also known for offering some nice features in their menus.  If you only buy new look no farther, but if you are trying to make your dollar stretch a little bit more it will be worth checking out refurbished Plasma TVs.
